In very good printed paper dust jacket. xvi, 134, [i +colophon] pp. Dust jacket is price-clipped, with some chipping and loss along the extremities, but else a Very Good copy. With the bookplate of garden historian Ann Leighton neatly affixed to the front paste-down; Leighton’s attractive bookplate bears a wood-cut device of three bees reproduced from a 17th century Italian book on gardens. One of 266 copies, of which this is number 227. Signed on the colophon page by the printer. The present volume faithfully reproduces the first treatise on the garden published in England, and is apparently the first reprinting of the 1563 first edition. Item #39
