Contains some poems and papers of Mathewson’s, along with retrospective pieces and letters written by friends and colleagues, including transcriptions of three letters from T.S. Eliot. Eliot was the subject of Mathewson’s doctoral dissertation (The Search for Coherence: T.S. Eliot and the Christian Tradition), which he defended successfully at Princeton in 1961. Shelley’s Mont Blanc has been used as the epigraph.
