[Mission, B.C.:]: Barbarian Press, 1994. Quarto, 26.8 x 20.1 cm. Cased in quarter dark blue cloth and patterned paper over boards; the covering paper repeats a wood engraved design by John DePol; gilt stamped lettering to the spine; pale blue endpapers; top edges cut, others untrimmed. Housed in a matching slipcase with cloth edges and patterned paper sides. Unpaginated [pp. 344, of which ll. 121 are plates bearing engravings, printed on the rectos only (+ advertisement, ‘Concerning Commissions…’, and errata slip, tipped-on to the rectos of the first front blank and first rear blank respectively)]. A fine copy. The text was set in Joanna type and its accompanying italic, with Bembo used for display. The text matter was printed on Zerkall ivory laid and the engravings on Zerkall white wove paper. The binding was executed by Hans Strohhacker at North-West Bindery Limited in Surrey, B.C. Embellished with a Press device by Barry Moser, printers’ marks by Nancy Ruth Jackson, a title-block by Ted Staunton, and a frontispiece by Rosemary Kilbourn, all of which were specially cut in wood for this production. From a total edition of 430 copies, of which this is number 213 of 250 copies constituting the Regular state. Illustrated with a total of 126 wood engravings by 121 different artists, all of which were printed from the original blocks. Item #227
